Terms and Conditions

Most of these conditions are designed for your safety and the safety of others. In order to join us you must agree to the following conditions. Please read these carefully as they contain important information.

  1. REGISTRATION FORM

All riders must complete and submit this Registration Form which will be used for the sole purpose of contacting you about this ride, and to provide you details about the day(s) you’d like to join us.

  1. FITNESS AND ABILITY

This ride is non-competitive and will consist of riders of mixed ability riding in a group. It is important that you are well prepared, train hard and are ready to face the challenge. There will be hills, and on some days, some rather big hills. You will complete a minimum of 100km per day. Should it be decided that you do not have the required level of fitness, you will be unable to take part in the event.

  1. ENTRY FEES & FUNDRAISING

There are no entrance fees to join us on the ride, although, of course, the purpose of this ride is to raise money for the four charities we’re supporting. Any fundraising or donations are strictly voluntary and therefore nonrefundable.  100% of donations from riders and individuals will go directly to the charities we’re supporting (except a very small processing charge from BT at MyDonate). Donations can be made here: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/100climbschallenge

  1. SAFETY

Cycling is a potentially dangerous activity and, although the organisers, managers and promoters of this ride will do all in their power to make the ride safe, all riders take part at their own risk. All riders must ensure that their bicycles are in a roadworthy condition before the start of the event.

The spirit of this ride is very important to us. Anyone joining us on the road must obey the Highway Code at all times, observe cycling etiquette, and be courteous to all other road users, at all times.

The organisers accept no responsibility for any injury sustained or property damaged in the course of taking part in this ride in the absence of negligence or breach of statutory duty on their parts.

  1. LIABILITY / INSURANCE

The organisers, managers and sponsors of this ride cannot be held liable for injury, loss and damage caused or sustained as a result of taking part, howsoever arising, nor can they accept any liability for any changes made to either ride for safety reasons, or as otherwise planned through circumstances beyond their control.

While we go to great lengths to ensure that this ride is organised to enable participants to be as safe as possible at all times, we must make it clear that all participants in ‘The Event’ take part entirely at their own risk. You are therefore strongly advised to comply with our safety guidelines and to obtain personal accident insurance as well as adequate material loss / damage insurance cover in respect of your bicycle and personal property and any loss or injury you may cause to a third party.

  1. INSURANCE

It is very important to have YOUR OWN comprehensive travel, bike and medical cover. Cover for bicycles whilst in use or transit or during the event is also NOT included (check your household policy first to see if your bicycle is covered).

  1. HEALTH AND FITNESS

The event will consist of riders of mixed ability. It is important that everyone is well prepared to avoid hindering or delaying the progress of The Event – we stress, for your own benefit, that pre-event training is essential.

Cycling can be very strenuous and riders must be in good health. Riders who have any doubt about their health, or have a medical condition that could be affected by exercise, particularly a heart condition, are strongly advised to obtain their doctor’s approval before participating. Your health is your responsibility.

  1. TIMES AND ITINERARIES

All timings and itineraries are subject to change without notice due to circumstances beyond the organisers’s control. When signing up you are acknowledging that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions. Please ensure that you keep a copy for your records.

  1. CANCELLATION

The organisers will do their best to notify those joining us if it is necessary to modify the itinerary, or postpone or cancel the ride, or part of the ride. In any event we can’t accept any liability for any travel or accommodation cancellation costs incurred by those joining us.
